Why do my emails end up in spam?

Mail providers (Gmail, Outlook, corporate servers) check blacklists, called DNSBLs, before accepting an email. If your server IP or your domain is listed, your messages are rejected or sent to spam, often without you knowing.

• Spamhaus, Barracuda and SpamCop are the most used: a listing there has an immediate effect.
• Other lists have a more limited impact, but often point to the same problem.
• For a domain, the IPs of its mail servers matter most: we check them too.

What to do if you are listed?

Find the cause first, otherwise the listing will come back: compromised mailbox, abused contact form, open relay, malware on the server. Only then request removal with the link shown in the result. Some lists (SpamCop, UCEPROTECT) remove the address on their own after a few days without new unwanted email.
